just a different take on the previous photo - this one was taken a few minutes later... i couldn't decide which one I like better therefore I am posting both... originally I liked the horizontal orientation better then as I was deciding which one to submit I started liking the vertical composition better... in the end...... I am still not sure ;-)
that evening was my first chance to try some new Neutral Density filters... they are really handy for extended exposures around dusk time when it is not fully dark yet as they allow for long enough exposure time to create nice light trails and lines...
*** I will be back in a few days as I am immensed in the involving process of moving house... see you all soon and thanks for all your comments :-) ***
Update: still finishing off a few chores in the new place so I can only access net at work on limited basis... thanks for your judgements on the last two photos - it seems that most people liked the first one a little better... I hope to be back by the end of the week *fingers crossed*...
thanks to everyone for visiting and commenting... please critique at will - i am looking to learn so any comments and tips are appreciated...

wow -- i don't know...!! i was thinking the first, but i have had another look and am now not sure -- regardless though, they are both stunning! this one has more detail in the background -- more lovely lights? but i think i do like the framing better on the previous -- a bit sweeter to the punch! but it's up to you mate -- they are both gorgeous!! bravo x2!!!

I really like this but there is something about the previous one I like more.

A perfect image, very beautiful composition, as the previous one, I think that for display on the monitor, it is better to the horizontal version.

13 sec for that ! Great.... I do have to try it ! Thank you for the idea !

I like this framing better... Great night shot!

Lovely long exposure, and I prefer this orientation to yesterdays. ND filters are fun! What time of the evening did you take this at, I've tried some evening photography but keep having problems with glare in the sky!

@DaveB: i think it was around 7pm or just before... i think the best time is when the sky just begins to get dark as then it is easier to balance the lighting across the shot and keep everything well exposed...
Excellent image!!...the curve movement and the stunning lighting. The name of the picture fits right well.

nice shot!

I love the two of them!

I like both versions of the shot. to me the vertical version seems to have more movement and energy, while this horizontal format is more mellow.

Une superbe photo dans une lumière magique bravo.

Nice long time exposure shot. the colour is wonderful. I prefer the vertical version becouse it seems more dymanic image...

An excellent night shot. Like the great point of view and the "river of light" and curves that it draw. And thank you very much for your kind comment on my picture of leaves, it touch me...

I prefer the portrait frame. just scrolled back to see some of what I have been missing lately. Particularly like the frog and toad blending in so well.

Ribbons! Really cool. I have never tried this particular long exposure. Maybe I'll head into San Francisco and see what I can do! Thanks for the inspiration.
