under the watchful eye

Posted by DarkElf (Perth, Australia) on 20 December 2008 in Cityscape & Urban.

moving on to a different city - before i start my south coast series from WA, i wanted to share a couple more photos from the place where I was born - Lodz in Poland... it is a very different city to Perth, much more congested in terms of living space and size...

this photo comes from Piotrkowska Street - the main street in Lodz - looking towards the Freedom Square (Plac Wolnosci) where daily life takes place under the watchful eye of Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a Polish national hero from the late 18th century...

as a piece additional information, it is interesting to know that the highest mountain in Australia is named after the same person as the monument that you see here, the mountain being Mount Kosciuszko in New South Wales...

welcome to my photoblog and thanks for visiting... my aim is to learn photography and share my experiences with you, not only through my attempts at photography, but also through showing different aspects of the world that have caught my interest over the time that i have been walking this planet... hope you enjoy the journey with me...
