Australia Day fireworks

a quick update to begin with - thanks to some "wonderful" people in our local telecommunication company i was without internet for a few days... i have not been able to visit any photoblogs but hopefully all should be back to normal now...

in the meantime, given that today we celebrate Australia Day, i am posting another shot from last year's fireworks on the Swan River in Perth...

welcome to my photoblog and thanks for visiting... my aim is to learn photography and share my experiences with you, not only through my attempts at photography, but also through showing different aspects of the world that have caught my interest over the time that i have been walking this planet... hope you enjoy the journey with me...

What a terrific vantage point. This is a beautiful photograph. So colorful, and even the office buildings join in to create colorful reflections. Happy Australia Day!

By the way ... sorry to be so ignorant, what does Australia Day commemorate?

@San G.: hello! thanks for you comments :-) and you are in no way ignorant so thank you for asking!

Australia Day is basically just a celebration of the nation itself, the date refers to when Captain Arthur Phillip, commander of the First Fleet of eleven convict ships from Great Britain and the first governor of New South Wales, first arrived at Sydney Cove back in 1788...
