Canola Season

A return to the canola fields of Western Australia. This one comes from our trip to New Norcia, around 120km north of Perth. The clouds came completed the scene perfectly for me.

I was looking for the right conditions for a vision that I had in my mind for a while - the golden canola, trees and a good build up of clouds above. When you drive along it is not always easy to spot a great place for a composition but I think I managed it on this occasion.

It is a pretty straight forward shot with just the use of polariser to enhance the contrast and saturation and then processing to really get the depth and substance in the clouds. The key was getting the composition right and for my part I am very happy with the result.
