and don't ask me how to pronounce that name... this a plant otherwise known as Grass Tree (the name it comes under in the politically correct language) or in old terms a Black Boy... what you see is actually only the "grassy" tip of the tree - for a full view please see this photo http://darkelf.aminus3.com/image/2008-08-07.html

this plant is very typical of Australia and it appears pretty much all over the place...
