----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this is a wider view of the Nelson Falls from the previous post... what you saw in the previous photo was the left hand side part of the falls... i really like these particular falls - the water seems to be just hanging off the rocks and plants - especially over the mid section... i was there just towards the end of the wet season so the effect was just about at its full...
i did what Barbara suggested in the previous shot and "burned" the branch on the left a bit - indeed it does not jump out at the viewer and distract as much now! if anyone is wondering what i do in terms of post processing - i shoot in RAW to being with then usually in Canon Photo Professional globally correct exposure, brightness, contrast, white balance, saturation as needed and then in Photoshop i adjust highlights/shadows if needed, perform minor colour and lens distortion corrections and then sharpen the final version...
i have to say, i do not like doing too many local adjustments unless they are absolutely necessary - may be clone out a dodgy spot or something but no more than that... i try to get the photo as right as possible in camera... i do, however, think that i might have to work on other skills in post processing to possibly advance to the next level - but there is always time for that ;-)
