a pinnacle

this photo comes from the Nambug National Park in Western Australia, which is home to the Pinnacles Desert... this is one of the rock formations that can be found in the area...

Don Smith has posted an entry on Am3 here about sometimes looking behind yourself for a picture and this is another example of that... i went there looking for a grand sunset composition with colourful clouds, however, there were no clouds... just when i was about to give up i turned around and noticed the colours behind me with the evening light illuminating the Pinnacles...
