moeraki boulders

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

we started our journey by driving south from Christchurch... we landed at Christchurch Airport about four weeks after the devastating earthquake so we decided that local resident needed peace and space, not annoying tourists, and went on towards the Otago Penisula and Moeraki Boulders...

the Moeraki Boulders are large and spherical boulders lying along a stretch of Koekohe Beach on the Otago coast of New Zealand on the south island...

they are quite an amazing sight when you walk out on the beach... suddenly out of nowhere you see the rock spheres scattered all over the sand... they look almost unreal...
