ancient stones

these huge boulders on the slopes of Mount Kosciuszko no doubt remember the last ice age around 20,000 years ago, when the highest peaks of the Snowy Mountains main range experienced a climate, which favoured the formation of glaciers...

this is one of only two regions in Australia that receives regular snowfall during the months of June, July and August (the other being the alpine region in Tasmania)... i have not had a chance to visit this area in Winter as yet...
