Twelve Apostles sunset

one of the most iconic Australian sights and places - the Twelve Apostles near Port Campbell on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria...

they are fantastic at any time of the day but during the golden hours of the day they are truly spectacular... this is a photo taken not long before the sun bid goodbye to another day...

in front of the Apostles, you can see the remains of the stacks that have collapsed in the past, one of them as late as 2005... the nature gives and the nature takes... and then gives again - it is expected that with time more stacks will be created as more of the coastal limestone is being eroded...
