the Blue Lake in Mount Gambier, South Australia is a large monomictic lake located in an extinct volcano... the lake supplies the town of Mount Gambier with its drinking water supplies...
the lake changes its colour during the course of the year... from December to March, the lake turns to a vibrant blue colour, while from April to November it returns to a colder steel grey colour...
