alien origins

late in 2013 i was able to again visit the Moeraki Boulders on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand... the weather was very much bleak and it was what i call a "black and white" day for photography... this means that i usually had to settle for compositions and captures that would end up as black and white conversions later...

that is not all bad and it has allowed me to learn each place more intimately and also to get maximum out of most of my photographic outings...

this image before conversion was ok but not really that engaging... once i worked it a bit in processing the whole mood changed dramatically and it now reminds me of some gestating alien eggs on some foreign planet...
