before going to Japan this year, i was really looking forward to the cherry blossoms (amongst many other things)... needless to say that i was not disappointed! they were beautiful everywhere and despite huge crowds of blossom admirers, there was always a quiet spot to be found...

this i captured on out first walk through Tokyo - we wen to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and some trees were already blooming but most were still waiting for their turn... i really enjoyed that anticipation, especially when i noticed these beautiful buds beginning to come alive...
