Yasaka-no-to Pagoda

this is a tall pagoda in Kyoto overlooking the streets of Gion area below... while most pagodas are part of compete temple complexes, Yasaka-no-to Pagoda stands more or less alone... the buildings of the Hokan-ji Temple, to which it once belonged, have been destroyed by fires, earthquakes and wars over the years....
