Okunoin Cemetery

Posted by

Okunoin is a vast cemetery located on mount Koyasan, south of Osaka... the forest floor is scattered with more than 200,000 stone stupas of all shapes and sizes... various war memorials can be found here as well as graves of a large number of historical characters... this is the largest graveyard in Japan...

the atmosphere is very peaceful and there is just so much detail to absorb when walking the many paths around this location...
