into the gorge

after shooting the Z-Bend from a high vantage point we ventured down to the water level through a maze of rocks and trees... if you look closely at the top left corner you might just see the look out that oversees this part of the Murchison River canyon...

this is a rare photo where i blended two exposures together - one for the sunlit parts of the gorge and one for the shaded areas... i am not too skilled in blending techniques and prefer to shoot with filters but i tried it on this occasion... i feel that the result still looks natural enough and that most importantly, it conveys what i was trying to capture and share - the beauty of the gorge and its fine detail...
