In Search of Sunrise

Morning colours open up a little over the Kirkjufell mountain near Grundarfjordur in Iceland. This photo was taken on the same morning as the black and white shot I posted couple of months ago.

I first went to this spot hoping to see the sunrise arrive with beautiful colours. At first this did not happen and I decided to run down the hill to the right of this frame to take the reflection long exposure that I mentioned.

As I was taking the two minute exposure, I could see some of the colours starting to appear. As soon as the exposure was finished, I run back up the slippery hill and set up quickly to capture this scene. It is by no means a technically perfect shot but I still like the mood that I captured and it was one of the early highlights of our trip.
