Alesund is a beautiful town on the coast of Norway set across several islands stretching out into the Atlantic Ocean. It is known for its architecture in Art Nouveau style after it was rebuilt in 1904 following a devastating fire.
The inner harbour caught our attention especially, as we walked through the town. Rows of dwellings and boats line the canals and it is a wonderful sight during the day and even more so in the blue hour of the evening.
The warm lights contrasted nicely with blue tones of the dusk and I used a long exposure here to smooth out the reflections and the clouds as much as possible. We visited just after the holiday season and it was very quiet both in the streets and on the water, which helped to achieve the three minute shutter speed.
