One tradition from Poland that I always look back fondly upon is the All Saints Day observed on the first day of November every year. Whether one is religious or not, it is always a special day for people to go to cemeteries all around the country, visit graves of their friends and relatives that have passed away over the years and light candles in their memory. The atmosphere, especially in the evening, is very spiritual and moving.

Today's photo comes from the Jewish Cemetery in Krakow and I thought that it would suit this occasion. Even when visiting on an ordinary day, cemeteries always instil a mood of contemplation, nostalgia and peace.
