Whispering Wind

As we are heading out for our next travels, I leave you for the moment with this photo from Bieszczady Mountains in Poland.

It was a beautiful afternoon when we hiked up onto the barren ridges that are such a feature of these mountain. Just the perfect kind of weather for a relaxing walk, feeling the breeze on your face and enjoying the sights of mountains around you.

That feeling of the wind's gentle caress was I wanted to photograph while getting low amongst the Autumn grasses. I did not want the motion to be to blurry, just visible enough to give a touch of dream like effect in the foreground. I used a three stop neutral density filter to slow down the shutter speed to one second and waited for the right amount of wind to create the effect that I was looking for.

I will be back in a couple of weeks time after our trip to the north island of New Zealand. The weather is not looking great at this stage but hopefully some great light awaits us out there somewhere.
