A simple beauty of West Australian canola fields at sunset near the town of York. We spent about an hour driving forwards and backwards to try to find a good location to catch the last light shining on the fields and local bushes. I was looking in both directions - towards the setting sun and away from for it as well. I was hedging my bets because the clouds were moving quite fast and while at one stage it looked like it could be a spectacular sunset, it quickly changed and there were almost no clouds left in the westerly direction by the time the sun was going down.
Late August and early September days are great for a drive out to the country side. Canola is blooming and there are lots of wild flowers around as well. It was very quiet and peaceful and once we were travelling on back roads away from main highways, we could slow right down and take our time to admire the views around us.
